In the previous episode we learnt how to control the ball to yourself. Now, we are learning how to compete against your hardest opponent... The WALL!
The best thing for beginners and even advanced players, is practicing against the wall. Many professional tennis players will tell you how the countless hours spent practicing against the wall helped their game.
Now it's time for you to learn how to practice against the wall. Like in the previous episode, we are keeping it very basic. It's not about how hard you can hit against the wall, it's about controlling the ball.
Using the continental or hammer grip, you will be tapping the ball up against the wall and back to yourself and repeat. However, there's a catch (like always). You must stand only 2m away from the wall.
This way it forces you to control the pace and height of the ball that you hit. If you're hitting too hard, you'll be chasing the ball every time. Remember, we're working on control right now, not power.
Like always practice, practice, practice. Once you can do this activity with ease, you're ready to move to the next step.
Check out the video below to see how it's done.
